DLC named a “Best Place to Work” in commercial real estate by ALM/GlobeSt.com

DLC teammates named a best place to work

Elmsford, NY – DLC has been named a “Best Place to Work” for the second time by ALM/GlobeSt.com. Criteria to be included in this elite group of companies includes ensuring “employee satisfaction and well-being by staying on top of workforce trends, reimagining workspaces, evolving practices, implementing new policies, and offering opportunities in regards to diversity initiatives, community outreach and family-friendly environments””A great place to work isn’t just about the perks and benefits, it’s about the people and culture that make it feel like home,” said Jillian Klein, Senior Vice President of People. “We are honored to be named one of the best places to work in 2023, and we will continue to invest in our teammates and foster a positive and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.”

The announcement on GlobeSt.com says: “DLC a shopping center owner, operator and manager with a portfolio of millions of square feet of retail space, has built a culture based on respect, transparency, appreciation and constant communication. The firm believes these guiding principles have helped it attract and retain its team members, many of whom have grown beyond the position they were hired into. Led by founder and CEO Adam Ifshin, DLC employs 111 professionals across six offices. Team members describe the company’s culture as close, friendly, family-focused, welcoming, encouraging, collaborative, inclusive and respectful. Its professional development programs include an in-house, teammate-led leadership development program, as well as a mentor program. All of the firm’s mentee and mentor pairings are cross-departmental, enabling professionals to build strong relationships with teammates outside of their own departments and gain exposure to areas that are not part of their day-to-day responsibilities. To promote better work/life balance, DLC offers a “Flex Place and Flex Time” policy that gives teammates increased flexibility with their work schedules. The company also offers a wellness hub that includes healthy recipes, meditation, and on-demand fitness classes.

Teammate feedback was also instrumental in being granted this designation. One DLC team member said: “We are large in our business, owning a big portfolio of assets, but the company runs like players of a sports team, each going the extra mile to ensure we all succeed,” he says. “Like the saying ‘there’s no I in team,’ I believe each teammate we have recognizes the need to help move us forward as a unit, all together, seeing the rewards and benefits through the results of our collective success, not individually.”

In 2022, DLC’s founder and CEO, Adam Ifshin was named to the Best Bosses list by the publication.
