HomeSense Celebrates Grand Opening at Tri-City Plaza in Vernon, CT

After being building ready for a better part of the year, the second Connecticut Homesense has finally opened its doors after being delayed due to the unpredictable business.

Located at Tri-City Plaza in Vernon, CT., Homesense offers an array of items that include furniture, a rug emporium, a lighting department that includes hanging chandeliers, and a “general store” featuring everything from hardware to storage needs.

The newest sister store to HomeGoods and T.J. Maxx will now share the same address at Tri-City Plaza, as all three brands will now call the DLC center home.

“Homesense brings customers even more of what we know they love – beautiful, quality home merchandise at incredible values,” said John Ricciuti, the president of HomeGoods and Homesense in the U.S. “We are thrilled that Homesense brings avast and unique selection for customers to discover and curate the homes of their dreams.”

Seasonal items include outdoor furniture, garden-related goods, entertaining “essentials,” and holiday decor. New merchandise shipments will arrive weekly.

The store features “updated health and safety practices to help protect the health and the well-being of customers and Associates.”

Those practices include:

  • Requiring face coverings (except for young children and those with health conditions that prevent them from wearing a face covering)
  • Enhanced cleaning protocols
  • Frequently cleaned carts
  • Protective shields at the registers
  • Senior Shopping Hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 10 a.m.

As part of Homesense’s grand opening, a donation was made to the Hockanum Valley Community Council’s food pantry. The HVCC Food Pantry is an emergency food source for residents of Vernon, Tolland, and Ellington, CT.
