VP of Leasing Training and Development
DLC Management Corporation, one of the nation's preeminent private retail real estate companies, is seeking a Director of Leasing - Training and Development. The Director of Leasing Training and Development is a newly created, critical role that will provide training and coaching to junior leasing talent within the Leasing department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for people, and a desire to help others reach their potential. This candidate will need deal making experience in an effort to train and develop the team. However, this candidate's primary role will not be deal making and the core responsibility will be training and growing the junior leasing representatives to be seasoned dealmakers. This will be done through in and out of office training. The training will be real world and value add to the organization because they will be on projects that the leasing team needs assistance on. The ideal candidate is team focused, highly goal-oriented and passionate about the professional development of others.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and developing junior leasing talent (primarily out of college)
- Use the DLC training program to develop junior leasing talent so that they get promoted to leasing representatives on one of the internal leasing teams at DLC
- Educate, train, and motivate the junior leasing team with in and out of office training
- Work on small special projects to assist the internal leasing teams. Most of the projects will be multi-week small shop prospecting projects.
- Develop the team's core prospecting strategies such as cold calling, emailing, and door to door physical canvassing.
- Develop new and innovative prospecting strategies such as social selling.
- Manage, train, and coach 4-6 Junior Leasing Representatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Desired Skills & Expertise:
- 5-7 years of leasing experience required (retail experience preferred)
- Consistent prospecting record
- Strong desire to manage, coach and train others (previous experience strongly preferred)
- Passion for leasing local mom and pop shops
- Ability to travel
- Goal oriented
- High energy with the ability to navigate in a face paced environment
- Optimistic attitude with the ability to inspire others
- Ability to take on a newly created role and create a training program in conjunction with DLC best practices
