Investor Relations Associate

DLC Management Corporation, one of the nation’s preeminent private retail real estate companies, is seeking an Investor Relations Associate to join our HQ office located in Elmsford, NY ((Westchester County).  Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the Investor Relations Associate will take a lead role in supporting the company’s existing network of high net worth investors.  The deal candidate will demonstrate excellent quantitative and qualitative skills, combining the ability to analyze and evaluate financial data and articulately and confidently explain the results.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the performance of each existing investment including leasing activity, property operations and performance, investment returns, and capital markets events
  • Establish and build rapport across a diverse group of high net worth investors with varying degrees of financial sophistication, becoming the resource investors look to for help and assistance on their investments
  • Manage quarterly reporting requirements including leasing reports, financial analyses, and performance metrics, as well as annual distribution of K-1s
  • Participate in quarterly distributions, including calculating individual investor distributions for each investment, and processing distributions through ACH and checks
  • Maintain and track entity-level capital balances and distributions for each investment
  • Prepare financial analyses to help investors understand how property-specific events may impact their investment and possible avenues to address these events
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of investor information for one-off events such as capital calls, refinancing, and sales
  • Participate in raising new general partner capital from high net worth investors for new investments made with institutional partners, and provide reports and support to these high net worth investors through the investment cycle
  • Respond to investor inquiries on a timely basis, providing excellent client service through well researched and meaningful explanations
  • Understand and be able to cogently explain the business plan for each investment as well as the relative degree of performance against said plan

Desired Skills & Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or finance with 3-5 years of related real estate experience and/or experience within financial planning/advising
  • Strong quantitative skills including financial analysis and modeling. Advanced Excel skills a positive
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments to address investor inquires. Hands-on and able to work on a variety of tasks with deadlines in mind
  • Proactive, energetic, creative, and capable of tackling questions and solving problems independently and resourcefully
  • Patient when addressing the needs of less sophisticated investors, balanced by a sense of urgency as needed
  • Superior qualitative ability including written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to take initiative and complete projects independently on a timely basis
  • Outstanding work ethic and attention to detail
